FLICKR FRIDAY Project116*3: The NEWLY PAINTED Castle

In an effort of doing a double upload this week, I go back to the Disneyland trip well (I really can only draw blood from this stone one last time).

During our 8th anniversary, and the first day we arrived, they removed the scrim and scaffolding and what you see is the new paint scheme for the Sleeping Beauty castle. Now to be fair there are some who wanted more muted colors but for me and my wife, we loved the saturation. The shade of blue with the gold was so punchy and the way the sun hit the castle right at that time of day, it was....just magical.

I'll have an upload again, how so ever the blog entry for Shutter Speed for the "Understanding Exposure" blog series is on hold while I recoup an injury and get ahead of some obligations personally. Thanks for understanding and see you again soon!

On Location: Anderson Japanese Gardens

…WHERE this was should ring some bells for those who’ve followed me for a while now as it was a return to a beautiful garden just a hop, skip, and jump from where I live…

If you follow my adventures and post then you know that the previous post was my Flickr Friday upload, the inaugural post of Project 116*3. WHERE this was should ring some bells for those who’ve followed me for a while now as it was a return to a beautiful garden just a hop, skip, and jump from where I live. Anderson’s Japanese Garden is a relaxing arboretum and the site of the previous photo project C M Y K’s (M)agenta Forest. This was less a revisit to project C M Y K and more to show my in-laws this garden on their anniversary. I knew i wanted to get a shot of them on their 40th anniversary, but it hit me like a bolt of lightning to get it in front of the waterfall I captured with (M)agenta Forest. I chose a sweeter picture for Project 116*3 but it wouldn’t be my Mother and Father In-Law if there wasn’t a goofier photo of them as well. Last thing worth mentioning, the presets I used for some of these photos to add mood are part of an Adobe Lightroom preset pack I made. Available on the store, these presets are a reflection of Springtime in 2019. It’s been on sale for a bit now, and with Spring coming to a close so will the sale come June 1st. Food for thought for you little shutterbugs out there with Adobe Lightroom. At any rate, thanks for stopping by, enjoy the photos below, and see you all tomorrow for another Flickr Friday upload as Project116*3 trucks on down the road…

YEAR OF THE ROOSTER: Chinatown Photowalk

It's been a while since I posted on here, and that's going to start to change as it warms up, but I wanted to upload some photos I took on our trip to Chicago's Chinatown during the New Year Celebration.   My trip was cut short how so ever as I wiped out on the street falling on both knees after stepping into and tripping on a pothole.  I made the most of the day, and I intend to return next year, and even sooner as the food was amazing at Triple Crown (not surprised). The photos below were taken on my 5D mk II w/ 17-40mm lens, and per usual copyright laws are mine (Bendersama Photography) and require permission to be used outside this website. Now with that outta the way, enjoy!
